What types of supplement powder can the machine handle?
Our stick pack machines handle free-flowing and slightly cohesive powders from fine (10–100 micron) to coarse granule formats. Products with fat content (like MCT-containing meal replacements) or electrostatic tendencies require specific auger and hopper configurations which we design based on your product sample test.
What is the minimum and maximum fill weight per stick?
Standard range is 2g to 50g per stick for our multi-lane machines. For larger serving sizes (50g–100g), our sachet machines are more appropriate. For premium retail pouches of 500g or more, our premade pouch filling system is recommended. We size the auger and dosing system to your target fill weight during the engineering phase.
How accurate is the fill weight across all lanes?
Each lane uses an independent servo-driven auger with digital parameter control. Typical accuracy is ±1% (RSD) per lane, validated over 500 consecutive fills in production conditions using your actual product. An inline checkweigher samples sticks from each lane and flags any drift in real-time, with automatic rejection of out-of-spec sticks. We provide the full statistical validation report prior to FAT sign-off.
Can the machine handle probiotic powders that are sensitive to heat?
Yes. We offer an insulated powder contact zone with chilled air circulation for heat-sensitive powders including probiotics, enzymes, and some botanical extracts. The product path is kept below 15°C while the sealing jaws operate normally. This configuration also reduces static buildup on fine powders. Please specify your product temperature requirements when requesting a quote.
Does the machine support nitrogen flushing?
Yes — nitrogen flushing is available as a standard option on all our stick pack and sachet machines. Nitrogen is introduced into the pack just before the final seal, displacing oxygen to below 1% headspace O2. This is particularly important for omega-3-containing blends, vitamin C powders, and probiotic formulations. Residual oxygen measurement can be integrated for quality documentation.
What film types are compatible?
Our machines run virtually all film structures used in supplement packaging: aluminum foil laminate, polyester/PE laminate, BOPP, matte finish laminate, kraft paper laminate (for natural brands), and compostable film. Film thickness range is typically 60–120 microns. We test your specific film on our machines before order confirmation to verify seal parameters.
How long does changeover between products take?
Format changeover (different stick width or length) takes 20–30 minutes with tool-free parts. Product changeover (e.g., whey to collagen) requires a CIP/WIP wash of the auger, hopper, and powder path — typically 30–45 minutes depending on how different the two products are. For allergen-containing products (e.g., milk proteins), dedicated auger sets are recommended for a complete product-to-product clean separation.
What GMP documentation do you provide with the machine?
We supply: material certificates (SUS316L, PTFE seals, FDA-grade gaskets), IQ/OQ protocol templates, factory acceptance test (FAT) report with statistical accuracy data, cleaning validation guidance, electrical schematics and PLC documentation, and a spare parts list with lead times.
